Seasonal Climate
Spring — Cool and damp. The lake district thaws slowly, with mist clinging to the water surfaces through March and April. Temperatures rise gently, and wildflowers appear along the forest paths from late April. Rain is frequent but light.
Summer — Cool and pleasant, with highs around 24–27 °C in July. The surrounding lakes and dense forest canopy moderate the heat. Mornings are often fresh, with dew on the lakeshores. Afternoon showers are common but brief, and clear evenings offer the longest daylight in the kingdom's north-west.
Autumn — Beautiful and early. Foliage around the lakes turns from late September, and morning mist over the water becomes a daily spectacle. Temperatures drop quickly from October, with frost setting in by late month. The first snow dusts the surrounding peaks by November.
Winter — Snowy and cold. The lake district receives consistent snowfall from December through March, creating a distinctive white landscape. Temperatures regularly fall to −10 °C in January. The lakes themselves cool dramatically but rarely freeze entirely due to their depth and sheltered position.
